LRHS girls golf’s road to states started with a district title

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls golf team placed sixth in their regional tournament and will be moving on to the state tournament.

After placing first in the 3A region district 7 championship, the LRHS girls golf team competed in regionals on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Summerfield Crossings Country Club.

Junior Lauren Hosier led the girls golf team with the score of 75 total strokes.

Junior Jessica Kobetitsch said, “We are so excited to compete in states this year, we did well in regionals but even better in districts which allowed us to win the at large bid for Florida.”

Freshman Tiffanie Tran said, “It is so rewarding to be able to go to states as the only a freshman on the team. The team can’t wait to get the opportunity to contend in states after doing amazing at districts and regionals.”

The state competition is scheduled for Nov. 16 – 17 at the Mission Inn Golf Resort at Howey in the Hills.
