Mustangs look forward to Halloween dress-up

Emma Braunstein – Mustangs Ahead

(Lakewood Ranch, FL)- As Halloween is just around the corner, the question of, “What are you going to be?” is on the mind of many Mustangs.

Some plan their costumes out months beforehand, while others come up with a costume at the last minute.

Senior Emma Balak is being a fairy for Halloween.

“It is so hard producing a costume because I want it to be unique but at the same time recognizable. I have been thinking about my costume since August and have slowly been collecting pieces of the costume while they are still available,” said Balak.

Others take a different approach to costumes going as pair or group costumes. Many couples like to do simple or quirky costumes like peanut butter and jelly or Harley Quinn and the Joker.

Seniors Caitlyn Hales and Kathen Llorca are going as a prison guard and prisoner.

“We just decided to do this costume last week and did not really put that much thought into it. We are only going to be wearing the costumes for a couple hours and it is going to be dark anyways. I do not know why people stress so much over it,” explained Hales.

Senior Briana Momeny is going as a pirate.

“For Halloween I like to go all out and get creative with my costumes. For example, last year I was Bob Ross, and my friend was a painting. I pick my costume based on the mood and look I’m going for. If I go with something creative, I go all out, but this year I’m taking the more causal route,” Momeny said.
