(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Media Center now gives Mustangs access to free e-books and audiobooks through the Junior Library Guild (JLG) Digital program.

New and current titles are open each month and books are streamed for 60-90 days. The titles given are thoroughly vetted, highly recommended, and tend to be award winners in multiple categories.

LRHS media specialist Jill Mullins said, “Giving Mustangs access to digital library books is a natural response to the recent need to provide distance learning in a moment’s notice. LRHS has subscribed to JLG titles in print for many years. However, this is our first year using the digital library.”

The individual student sign-in is not currently available but if they program goes well, the media center will look at more options.

Mullins added, “Endless studies show the lifelong positive results of reading. If Mustangs partake of this opportunity, I predict better outcomes for their lives well beyond high school.”
