The Mustang volleyball season ends

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS volleyball team wrapped up their season on Tuesday, Oct. 19 with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-17) lost against Naples Gulf Coast High School in the 7A district 8 semifinals.

Senior MacKenzie Schmucker led the team this season with 527 assists and 231 digs.  Junior Katherine Ekstrom lead the team with 178 kills.

Head coach Perrilee Hankins said, “We had a very close-knit team this year and were happy to be competing in a complete on time season this year. We have the majority of our starters returning so I will be looking forward to the upcoming season.”

Senior Mallory Lloyd said, “Overall, I was happy with how the season went and I am super proud of how the team performed. I made so many memories and I am going to miss playing with these girls.”

The Mustangs ended their season with a record of 18-9, ranking sixth in 7A District 8.
