Erin-Elizabeth Purcell – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened to students on Friday, Oct. 1.
FAFSA is the free government college aid program that any and all Mustangs have access to.
“FAFSA is sometimes made out to be this incredibly difficult thing but in actuality it’s not too hard as long as you have all the information,” said senior Madeline Fields.
To fill out FAFSA, Mustangs will need their parent/guardian’s tax information for the 2020 tax return year, their social security number, and the social security number of at least one parent/guardian.
LRHS college and career advisor Ricardo Acevedo said, “The best thing to do in regards to FAFSA is to start it as soon as possible. You do not have to finish it all in one sitting. You can save it in pieces as you go along so any Mustang can fit it into a busy schedule.”
Fields added, “It did not take me longer than two hours.”
FAFSA is due June 30, 2022.
