LRHS cross-country Mustangs enjoy a successful season

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS girls and boys cross-country teams have both had strong seasons with the girls’ varsity team being one of the top teams in the state.

Both teams have been placing well at meets with over 25 teams competing against them.

Head coach LRHS language arts teacher Kristen Wikstrom expects good things to come.

“As a coach, I always look forward to the end of the season. Cross-country is a sport where the objective is to improve continually with the end of the season in mind. We train to maximize our performance at the end of the season, so I am looking forward to each athlete continually improving each week,” said Wikstrom.

The girls’ next meet is the FSU Pre-State Invitational in Tallahassee on Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 16.

The boys and JV teams next meet is the Bradenton Runner’s Club Invitational at GT Bray Park on Saturday, Oct. 16.
