Mustangs look to bounce back on gridiron

The Mustangs take the field.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity football team hopes to make a comeback against Riverview after an off week.

The team’s last game was on Friday, Oct. 1 against Venice High School where the Mustangs fell 61-7.

The team is now 2-4 and are ready to get back on the field.

Head coach Rashad West said, “The break was good, much needed chance to recharge before we start the second half of our season. What we really accomplished is we got a bit healthier which is big. Riverview will be a great challenge for us. We are looking forward to competing against another tough district opponent.”

The Mustangs next game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 at Riverview High School.

Senior Quarterback Cameron Madison said, “It’s another opportunity for the team to go out and compete to get better. The bye week was refreshing, and we are ready to get back on the field.”
