(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Mustangs Marching Band had their first Florida Marching Band Championships (FBMC) competition on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Durant High School.

The Marching Mustangs finished first in the 4A classification and won the awards for best music and best visual performance.

The Mustangs performed their show titled “Find Your Yellow Brick Road.”

Flutenist junior Ava Filewich, “It’s so exciting to see that our hard work is paying off and getting first place just gave me even more motivation to work harder so no one else gets it.”

The next scheduled competition for the Marching Mustangs will be the FMBC at Braden River on Saturday, Oct. 23.
