LRHS junior Chad Anderson flies a drone

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Junior Chad Anderson follows in his dad’s footsteps with his work in the LRHS engineering program and robotics team and the school’s new drone certification program.

His father was on his college robotics team where they won a national competition. As a result, his school’s flag got sent up in a space shuttle with all the team members’ signatures.

Anderson’s father later got him into Technology Student Association (TSA) when he was in elementary school, and Anderson has continued ever since.

Anderson has earned his drone pilot license.

Anderson has many goals for the upcoming year including winning the upcoming Vex competition. Anderson continued, “This year I am also working towards making a synchronized flight with fourteen drones, all flying in formation with one controller.”

Anderson added his favorite thing about robotics is competing.

“I like to win. If there is some sort of problem that another team has a solution to, I’m going to make a solution that’s twice as good as theirs,” continued Anderson.
