Mustangs for Kids dance for little ones

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs for Kids is currently seeking members.

Mustangs for Kids is an LRHS club dedicated to raising money for the Shriners Childrens Wellness Center in Tampa.

The Shriners Childrens Wellness Center is a hospital that provides all their services, surgeries, and therapies for free to disabled youth.  They depend on donations to survive.

Club sponsor and LRHS intensive reading teacher Terri McAllister said, “I have been the sponsor of Mustangs for Kids since our very first year and it is truly a special organization. It brings new perspective to every Mustang who comes along for the journey.”

Through Mustangs for Kids, Mustangs get the unique experience of interacting with patients and planning a huge end of year dance marathon fundraiser.

Mustangs for Kids runs under the University of South Florida (USF), making it the only LRHS club directly associated with a college.

President senior ErinElizabeth Purcell said, “Being president of Mustangs for Kids for the last two years has been an invaluable experience and I have learned and seen so much. I can’t wait to share this special adventure with a whole new group of Mustangs as we start our new club year.”
