(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS FFA chapter was named a three-star chapter for the 2020-2021 school year, the highest ranking a chapter can receive.

In addition, the chapter was selected as a finalist for the premier chapter award in the category of strengthening agriculture for their work last year to provide Mustangs with interactive and creative events during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kaylee Shear, junior, said she and other FFA members are glad to be back on campus this year.

“Coming back from a COVID year, we faced challenges getting back to normal,” she said.  “Ther aer still many events we can’t participate in or have to follow strict guidelines for.  However, as a group we are able to make the most out of this year!”

Junior Garrett Day said, “We are all ecstatic to get back into the groove of things this school year. We are also excited to be able to bring back some events that COVID-19 took away from us last year.”

The LRHS chapter will be recognized for their achievements at the 94th National FFA Convention & Expo on Oct. 27 – 30.
