Alexa Hymes—Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team placed second this past weekend in their tournament at Braden River High School.

The Mustangs won their games against The Classical Academy of Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Braden River, and Out of Door Academy but ultimately lost their last game to Bradenton Christian.

Varsity Mustang senior Mallory Lloyd said, “I thought the tournament went really well. We have some things we need to work on, so we will work hard and practice to make sure that we fix everything we need to in preparation for the Braden River game.”

The team is also looking forward to three home games this week.

They play on Tuesday, Sept. 28 versus Venice, on Wednesday, Sept. 29 versus Palmetto, and on Thursday, Sept. 30 versus Parrish. All varsity games will begin at 7 p.m.

The freshmen and junior varsity teams will also be playing these schools. Freshmen will play at 5 p.m. and junior varsity will play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
