Mustang swimmers make a splash.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity swim team had their second swim meet against Manatee high school and Bayshore high school on Wednesday.

The LRHS team placed first with a combined score of 468 points; the girls scored 274 points and the boys scored 194 points.

Mustangs listed below placed first in their meet:

  • Nicole Majewski: Girls 50m Freestyle (30.39)
  • Logan Jones: Boys 50m Freestyle (27.35)
  • Reese Wellander: Girls 100m Butterfly (1:20.48), Girls 100m Backstroke (1:16.81)
  • Frank Runge: Boys 100m Butterfly (1:05.78), Boys 500m Freestyle (5:41.67)
  • Reese Messal: Girls 100m Freestyle (1:10.09)
  • Diego Munoz: Boys 100m Freestyle (1:09.77)
  • Shelby Kovatch: Girls 500m Freestyle (7.09:72)

The Mustangs also placed first in all six of their relay races which included 200m individual melody (IM) girls and boys, 200m freestyle girls and boys, and 400m freestyle girls and boys.

Senior Anastasia Jenkins said, “Even though we’ve had many delays canceled practices this season, I think we got a strong win in for LRHS.”

The team’s next meet is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA.
