Lucas Viera- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) club is looking for new members to join for the new school year.
SWAT is a statewide youth organization that aims to educate and empower students to live a tobacco-free lifestyle.
SWAT club adviser and English teacher Debra Mccarthy said, “I became the SWAT leader when I encouraged by my oldest daughter to join this special cause, as it educates today’s youth about the harmful effects of nicotine.”
Mustangs are required to obtain parental permission and complete a registration form to join.
Meetings are held at 7 a.m. on the first Friday of every month in portable 916.
“The goals of this youth organization are to educate and empower students to live a tobacco free life”, said Mccarthy
