Tess Lippincott – Mustangs Ahead

The Mustang volleyball team had a mixed week.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS volleyball team wraped up the week with a win and a loss.

On Thursday, Aug. 26 the Mustangs defeated Sarasota High School, 3-1.

They played again on Tuesday, Aug. 31 against Venice High School but ended up losing 3-0.

Tthe Mustangs hope to bounce back after facing these tough opponents.

Senior Mallory Lloyd, “Venice is always the anticipated game we prepare for so after this loss we know what to do for next time.”

The junior varsity (JV) team also played hard but ended up falling to both Sarasota and Venice.

Sophomore Marcela Cendana said, “Despite our losses, I feel confident in our upcoming games because we have been practicing every day and working hard. Our team works well together and keeps a positive mindset and attitude on and off the court.”

The freshman, JV, and varsity teams will all continue their regular season on Tuesday, Sept. 7 with an away match against Braden River. Freshman will play at 5 p.m., JV at 6 p.m., and varsity at 7 p.m.
