Mustang swimmers make a splash

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS swim team competed in their first swim meet of the season on Wednesday.

These Mustangs excelled during their meets and the following placed first in their events:

  • Kara Grantland: Girls 200m freestyle (2:36.86)
  • Conner Allen: Boys 200m freestyle (2:30.38)
  • Frank Runge: Boys 200m IM (2:24.05), Boys 100m freestyle
  • Nicole Majewski: Girls 50m freestyle (29.96)
  • Logan Jones: Boys 50m freestyle (27.54)
  • Alexandra Adamo: Girls 100m butterfly (1:42.37)
  • Dimiter Zafirov: Boys 100m butterfly (59.35), Boys 500m freestyle (5:52.78)
  • Reese Messal: 500m freestyle (6:39.50)
  • Kyle Dorn: Boys 100m backstroke (1:26.75)
  • Carter Kauffold: 100m breaststroke (1:17.51)

The LRHS swim team also placed first in four of the six medley relay races.

The team competed against other high schools including Palmetto High School, Parrish Community High School, Bayshore High School, and Southeast High School.

Junior Nicole Majewski said, “I am very proud of how dedicated our team is, they work very hard to improve themselves and we have come a long way.”

The team’s next swim will is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 1 at the John Marble Pool.
