Sara Cestero – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs in LRHS English teacher Jennifer Grant’s second period speech class got the opportunity to read to the Mini-Mustangs last week.

As a class assignment, Mustangs were each paired with a Mini-Mustang to read to them.-

Mustangs selected interesting books aimed at a fourth-grade audience in the media center, such as “Pete the Cat”, “No David”, “Knufflebunny”, and “The Cat in the Hat”.

So far, Mustangs who read to the Mini Mustangs have had positive responses towards their assignment.

Senior Kimberley Barr said, “Reading to the Mini-Mustangs was an amazing and unique assignment. I felt that it was a beneficial learning experience for both us and the Mini-Mustangs.”

With the success that reading to the Mini Mustangs has been this year, Grant said, “I would love to add this assignment to future speech classes.”
