(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes new volunteers for the 2021-2022 school year.

LRHS parents can stop by their first monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18 in the LRHS Media Center.

The PTO organizes activities for the benefit of LRHS and has put together several non-profit fundraisers for LRHS families in need.

PTO president Peggy Anuszewski said, “For the past several years, we have recognized four students (one from each grade) and one teacher each quarter with goodie bags containing donated gift cards, spirit wear, and gift certificates totaling approximately $100.”

Being a member of the LRHS PTO means supporting Mustangs financially through scholarships and recognition awards.

The LRHS PTO has been granting scholarships to seniors for almost 16 years and has also supported a food drive to benefit several deserving LRHS families

Last year, even with COVID-19 restrictions in place, they were able to raise enough money to award two $1000 scholarships.

By volunteering their time, parents can recognize and thank LRHS teachers and staff with luncheons and other events.
