Maya Rengifo – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs participating in LRHS summer campus activities, camps, and sports practices will have meals available throughout Summer 2021.

The food is funded on behalf of the Summer Food Service Program in Florida, beginning June 1.

Manatee Schools marketing and communications coordinator Jessica Anderson said, “We love summer, and the ability to continue food security for our students is amazing. Even with schools and their summer programs, to ensure that the kids are getting their healthy foods during their time on campus is very rewarding.”

This program is across the district including 12 mobile feeding locations, four drive-thru school sites, and 28 community sites all providing children 18 or younger with meals.

Parents and families can find times and locations here  or by calling 211 or by texting FoodFL to 877-877.

Regardless of whether serving curbside or not, each of the schools involved will have meals available for those children.

Anderson continued, “With the help of our community and the various organizations that we work with like the Food Bank of Manatee County, we are ready for June 1!”
