Ryan Hanson– Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Mustangs esports team’s season concluded on May 11 with a 4-0 loss to the Bishop Kenny High School Crusaders.

Despite the tough loss, the Mustangs had a successful season placing fifth overall in the state. The esports Mustangs competed in the game “Rocket League” this year.

LRHS esports coach Kari Keech-Babcock said, “The team did an excellent job over the year, it was exciting to see them make the playoffs both when they played regionally as well as in the state.”

Keech-Babcock continued, “Next year is an open book and with that comes a lot of new struggles and adventures. With COVID-19 restrictions becoming more relaxed, we have a lot of excitement for what that has to offer us.”

The program is hoping to see growth in the next year with overall more involvement from all potential gamers.
