LRHS English teacher Mary Ellen Eskett is ready to wrap up her career

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- After 21 years of teaching English teacher Mary Ellen Eskett will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Teaching has been an important part of Eskett’s life. Collectively she has taught at five schools over the course of 21 years, with seven of them being here at the Ranch.

“As the years have gone by, I have decided that it was finally time to retire so I could enjoy more time with my husband and family,” stated Eskett.

Here at the Ranch Eskett is a part of the English department and teaches dual enrollment English courses through the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee.

Eskett was also the National Honor Society (NHS) chapter advisor for six years here at the Ranch.

Eskett added, “My favorite thing about teaching here has definitely been being around all of the wonderful students I have gotten to know over the years.”
