(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS class of 2021 faces some changes in Bright Futures scholarship eligibility.

The Governor’s Emergency Order on Bright Futures eligibility extends and testing deadlines, along with changes to volunteer hour requirements.

Senior Mustangs must earn at least the minimum required SAT and ACT scores as specified by each Bright Futures Scholarship award level by December 1, 2021.

Senior Emma Foley said, “The changes in the Bright Futures scholarships has saved me a lot of stress when it comes to applying for college.”

Mustangs graduating in the spring of 2021 may submit the number of community service hours planned for, and intended to, complete but was unable to because the pandemic created a lack of access to volunteer opportunities or if, due to health concerns, the student fell short of the volunteer service hours.

In order to ensure community service hours are updated, complete the questions at this link by Friday, May 21.
