(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity baseball team’s season came to an end with a loss to Durant High School in an away game Wednesday night in the district semifinals.

The Mustangs pitching staff had a rough night, losing 11-0.

Despite the tough loss the Mustangs had a winning season, finishing 15-12 with some memorable wins over some tough opponents, including Riverview Sarasota High School, IMG Black, Braden River High School, Barron Collier High School and Calvary Christian High School.

Senior catcher John Schroeder stated, “I am going to miss my brothers, we all grew up together and it’s hard to let go of this all. We overcame so many challenges and I am extremely proud of our guys. We won some very tough games all while making memories that will last a lifetime.”

Senior Stone Frishman stated, “It is such a weird feeling walking away from the game after so many years and memories made with these boys. The season did not go how we all expected but we are so appreciative for all the memories and lessons this beautiful game has taught us.”

The Mustangs will say goodbye to 13 seniors and welcome back six juniors to come back next year.

The Mustangs are looking to have a solid season next year after lots of promising talent led the junior varsity team to a 15-0-1 and won the JV county championship.
