(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS’s FFA chapter has been selected as one of Florida’s Finest FFA Chapters.

The selection of these chapters is based upon the completion of the National Chapter Award program application. These chapters have excelled in the areas of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture and have worked hard to fulfill the mission and vision of the FFA. These chapters will be recognized during 93rd Florida FFA State Convention & Expo to be held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando this summer.

The Florida FFA State Convention and Expo is a highlight of the selected Florida’s FFA chapters of the year.

LRHS agriculture teacher Janyel Taylor said, “We have held this prestigious rank since 2014! There are over 330 FFA Chapters in Florida and only 29 chapters were selected this year.”

During the convention there are usually around 5,000 FFA members, advisers, alumni, and administrators who come together to celebrate the achievements of the past and present generations of agriculturalists. They also continue to develop their leadership skills, personal growth and career success.

FFA members or guests will also experience an award presentation, motivational speakers, exciting exhibits, and other entertaining activities.

Attendees can even take a tour of the Florida FFA Expo to search for career connections.

“Our application will now move onto the National Judging finals where chapters will be ranked with either a three star (the best rank), two star, or one star. Our chapter will be recognized at the 2021 Florida FFA State Convention,” said Taylor.
