(LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fl) – The LRHS flag football team concluded their season with a 25-7 loss to Palmetto in their district playoff game.

Junior linebacker Paige Willemsen said, “It was a really emotional game, and it was sad to say goodbye to the seniors, but overall, it was an incredible season with lots of ups and downs.”

The girls ended the season with a 7-7 record.

“I am very proud of how the girls played this season and I made sure to convey that to them,” said head coach Elijah Weaver.

Despite the loss, the Mustangs enjoyed several successes in 2021.  This year is the first time in program history that flag football Mustangs will continue to play in college.

Senior Nadiya Simpson has signed a scholarship to play at Midland University in Nebraska and senior Siniya Glover has signed to play at Thomas University in Georgia.
