Cassidy McLellan- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last week, the LRHS varsity softball team had a busy schedule, playing four games in four days.
The first game was Monday at Venice High School and the Mustangs took an 11-3 win.
Sophomore Olivia Ryan made an outstanding play in the outfield, diving in foul territory, catching the ball and getting the out.
Ryan said, “I was really excited after I made that play and hearing my team cheer for me made me feel even better.”
The second game was Tuesday at Canterbury High School and the Mustangs won 6-3.
The last two games were on Thursday against Braden River High School. The girls beat BRHS both games, 11-1 and 15-0.
On her first day back from quarantine sophomore Addyson Bruneman made exceptional plays in the field and had three Runners Batted In (RBIs) with a grand slam.
“I was so ready to get out of my house and play in a game again. Watching my teammates play was fun but I was jealous that I did not get to play with them,” she said.
