(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys varsity baseball team opened the second half of their season last week with two tough losses.

The Mustangs lost a close game to Palmetto High School 5-3 Thursday night followed up by a 10-0 loss to Venice High School.

The Mustangs now stand at 7-7 and are looking forward to a week of home games, including senior night.

Senior night is schedule for 7 p.m. Tuesday against Manatee High School. They will then have a home game 7 p.m. Wednesday against IMG High School and another home game 7 p.m. Thursday against Booker High School.

Senior Cam Martin stated, “We had a tough start to the second half of our season, but we are all excited to play on senior night and flush our losses away and start fresh.”

Rivalry week is up for LRHS with a three-game series against Braden River High School (BRHS) – a home game against BRHS on Monday April 5 and Thursday, April 8, and will finally travel to Braden River in an away game on Wednesday, April 7.

Senior Stone Frishman said, “I am excited to face Braden River, it’s been something we all have been looking forward to for a long time, but we have business to take care of this week, so we are all focused on that.”
