Three Mustangs recognized for conservation artwork

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Three LRHS  Mustangs have won the 2021 Water Conservation poster contest hosted by the Manatee County Utilities Department.

Every year Manatee County Utilities Department hosts the “Drop Savers” Water Conservation Poster Contest, organized by the Florida Section American Water Works Association (FSAWWA).

The goal of the contest is to promote awareness and importance of water conservation in daily routines. Sixteen Manatee County schools participated in the 2021 contest. The first-place winning entries from each division were sent to the statewide ‘Drop Savers’ contest.

First-place winner senior Ashely Pascarella, stated “It felt really cool and rewarding to win an art competition and something that I used to participate in during elementary school. I think I did pretty well and made a creative poster for the competition.”

Sophomore Neveah, who took third, stated, “I did not expect to place third in the competition, I thought it was just a normal school project. I am very grateful for this opportunity.”

Teachers will be notified directly by the department regarding the distribution of certificates, medals and prizes.
