(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS boys varsity baseball team had a successful week, going 2-1 improving their record to 7-5.

The Mustangs faced off against Palmetto in an away game Monday night that saw the Mustangs take a commanding lead early to seal the 9-3 victory.

It was not a good night for the Mustangs on Tuesday in a loss to the Sarasota Sailors in a home game. The Mustangs struggled on the mound as the Sailors overwhelmed the Mustangs with 14 hits.

After a 7-0 Loss to Riverview Sarasota on March 5 the Mustangs traveled to Riverview for a rematch on Wednesday night.

The Mustangs were solid on both sides of the ball, racking up 12 hits and senior Noah Harsch pitching seven innings allowing two hits and recording four strikeouts in an 8-1 victory.

Senior John Schroeder stated, “We made a lot of progress this week, I am really proud of how we bounced back against Riverview to pay them back. I am excited to get back after it after spring break.”

The Mustangs play their next game 7 p.m. Thursday March 30 at home against Palmetto.
