Lacrosse ends week with mixed results

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Another week passes as the LRHS lacrosse teams wrap up a hard couple of games and prepare to play their last games before spring break.

Last Friday, the girls varsity team traveled to Durant High School, and came home with an 18-4 victory.

This past Wednesday, the girls lost to Newsome.

Their record is now 5-3.

The boys varsity team also went home with a hard loss this week, losing on Tuesday to Cardinal Mooney.

Their record is now at an even 3-3.

Coming off a tough week, the Mustangs remain hopeful for their upcoming games.

Junior varsity (JV) sophomore Landon Llamas said, “It has been a bit since we have gotten a game in, but we have been training hard and hopefully can beat them this time around.”

The boys’ varsity team will be having another away game on Friday, March 11 against St. Petersburg High.

They will also be playing at 7 p.m. next Monday, March 15, at Sarasota High School.

The girls JV team will be playing an away game tonight at Berkeley Prep.

The boys’ junior varsity will play Venice for a second time this season over spring break on Saturday, March 20.

The time for the game is still to be determined.

The girls varsity team did have a game scheduled tonight against St. Pete High School, but it was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns with the opposing team.
