(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS varsity softball is ranked number one in the nation according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
NFCA said, “Lakewood Ranch, which has one loss in the last three seasons, and is undefeated through its first seven games this year, opens No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 poll.”

The Mustangs are 7-0 and have outscored their opponents 74-5 so far in 2021.
NFCA explained, “Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule.”
LRHS senior Jillian Herbst said, “Being ranked number one in the nation is very exciting but we are going to continue to work extremely hard so we can complete our goal of winning states.”
