Steven Brown – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Two Mustangs wrestlers have qualified for the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state finals on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6 at Oceola Heritage Park.
Senior Travis Ferrence and junior Ranson Coons competed in the regional finals on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Osceola High School.
Ferrence placed fourth after defeating a Lehigh High School wrestler and Coons placed third after wrestling a Leto High School wrestler.

At regionals, Ferrence attained his 100 victory and Coons set a new team record of 100 pins.
Coons stated, “I am looking forward to the state tournament as I have been working for this opportunity all year.”
Ferrence added, “My goal for this year is to place in the top six at states. Especially with COVID-19 our team has been able to work past obstacles and have a great season.”
