(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Mustang esports team is gearing up for their upcoming Spring season. There are some notable changes within the program from when it started last Fall.
The “A” team (varsity) will compete at the so-called “state” level starting this season. Las season they competed in the regional league.
With a state title possible in the distance, coaches and players are more excited than ever for this upcoming season.

LRHS math teacher and esports coach Mark Marron said, “We are looking forward to stepping up our game and progressing further in the post season and potentially winning the entire state league.”
Adding new games to compete in is directly dependent on new interest in esports. Marron said, “We are still unsure if there will be any changes outside the two Rocket League teams have yet and we are still waiting to see if we will have enough players to compete in other games.”
In fall the LRHS “A” team advanced to the quarterfinals in Rocket League. They competed in a regional league of over 400 teams.
There is still an opportunity for new players to join the team. If interested, reach out to either Marron or LRHS social studies teacher and esports coach William Wallin.
