(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls and boys lacrosse teams started their seasons this past Saturday, Feb. 13 at the annual Lax Against Leukemia tournament.
The girls’ varsity team won two games against Mitchell High School and Tampa Catholic High School but a game against Sickles High School, leaving them with a 2-1 record for the day.
The girls junior varsity (JV) team lost their games against Cardinal Mooney High School and Tampa Catholic.
The boys teams won against Sun Lake High School and Steinbrenner High School, tied against Alonso High School and then lost to them.
Unfortunately, the boys junior varsity (JV) team was not able to play in the tournament.
While the games do not count in the teams’ official records, the tournament is the teams’ way of getting some game experience and to help raise money for those in need.
