(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS National Honors Society (NHS) has been making the most out of the year despite COVID-19 limitations.

Currently, they are continuing the annual teacher help program and will host a fundraiser later this month at BURGERFI.

Teacher help day will be after school every Thursday.

The program started four years ago as a way for NHS to give back to the faculty and staff.

Teachers and staff can request Mustangs to help with tasks such as filing paperwork, sorting and stapling packets, etc.

NHS Mustangs receive volunteer hours for participating.

Outgoing NHS adviser and LRHS English teacher Mary Eskett said, “COVID-19 has made this year different due to the new restrictions in activities, but we are doing our best to keep this year as normal as possible.”

NHS will have a fundraiser with BURGERFI from 5 – 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24. BURGERFI will donate 15% of all dine-in orders to the program.  BURGERFI is located on 257 N. Cattleman Road # 90, Sarasota.
