Zach Fenimore- Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys varsity basketball team’s season came to an end Wednesday night with a 63-53 loss against Durant High School in the district semifinal.

After a rough 3-5 start to the season, the Mustangs turned it around and ended with an 11-7 record. Unfortunately, the momentum was not enough for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs will bid farewell to only one senior, Zach Fenimore, as they look to improve next year with a very similar roster.

Junior captain and leading scorer Andres Junge stated, “We had a good season, and I am proud of how my teammates responded to all the distractions and hardship due to COVID-19. I am looking forward to getting back at it next year and winning a district championship.”

The Mustangs were on a streak, winning eight of their last 11 games of the season, showing a promising future for the young team.

Sophomore center Cole Dement stated, “I believe us to have a promising future, the lack of experience this season was a tough learning curve for us but I am, confident we will put in the work and come out stronger next season.”
