(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-The LRHS boys varsity basketball team has not seen action since being quarantined on Thursday, Dec. 22.

Despite this, the team faced the North Port Bobcats on Saturday, Jan. 16 and won with a victory of 58-41.

Sophomore Ian Rodriguez scored ten points and scored three assists. Junior Jayden Clarke-Jones scored 14 to add on to the win.

Clarke-Jones stated, “I’m proud of how we bounced back from being out for so long and excited see if we can keep up the momentum.”

Sophomore Chad Anderson had a presence in the paint scoring 13 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

Anderson stated, “This was a great team win, we came out and played hard and had fun. I’m excited to see how we play against Lakeside Christian and Southeast this week.”

The Mustangs look to improve their 4-5 record this week with games against Lakeside Christian Tuesday, Southeast Wednesday, and Evangelical Christian Saturday, Jan. 23.
