Meghan Llamas – Mustangs Ahead 

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As Mustangs adjust to going back to school full-time, spring sports such as lacrosse are preparing for their upcoming seasons.

Social studies teacher and lacrosse coach Samantha Stoltz has set up a meeting for girls interested in playing lacrosse.

Those who plan to try out for the team must go to a mandatory meeting on the football field on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 2:45 p.m. to discuss details of the new season.

Tryouts will be held on Monday, Jan. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 26 at a time that is still being determined.

Junior Campbell Laurvick said, “I am so excited for the new season! Even though we lost some strong seniors, I feel like with the new talent we have coming in we are going have a great season.”

This will be the program’s fourth year at the Ranch, and returning players hope to pick up from where they left off last season.

While their season was cut short due to the pandemic, the varsity girls ended with an impressive record of 8-2, first in the district.

Senior Emma Tulio said, “I’m super excited that we are having another season. This will be my last year playing and I’m happy that we are able to have games and a senior night.”
