(Lakewood Ranch, FL)- LRHS senior Shivanie Ghansiam has earned a scholarship from the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).

Ghansiam has been an athlete her whole life; she has played flag football all four years of high school and played two years of JV tackle football here at the Ranch.

Ghansiam plans to continue her flag football career in college, whether that be at an out of state college or at the University of Florida.

“Flag football is still in a developmental state and is a growing sport, I feel as though as it continues its development my love for it will only grow,” said Ghansiam.

Both her love for sport and knowing this is only the beginning for the sport are the two reasons why she wishes to continue playing flag football after high school.

Flag football was introduced for the first time at the Ranch during her freshman year. “Sports have always been something I’m fascinated in, growing up with my siblings who all played sports I naturally caught interest and it grew as a passion,” stated Ghanisiam.

Ghansiam plans on receiving her bachelor’s degree in political science then going to Law School to become a lawyer.

The PCA provides research-based training and resources for coaches, parents, athletes, and leaders to ensure a positive youth development experience for all kids, in all communities across the U.S., through sports.
