Boys basketball opens with win

Zach Fenimore-Mustangs Ahead 

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity boys’ basketball season got underway with a 73-49 victory over Venice high school in their first game of the season on Friday, Nov. 27. 

The leading scorer was junior Andres Junge with 28 points.  Junge said, “This was a great win for the team as a whole.”

Junior Jay’Den Clarke, who scored 14 points, stated, “It felt amazing to bring home a win in our first game of the season and we can hopefully we can keep this momentum in our upcoming games”. 

Senior Zach Fenimore also scored 13 points while junior Matthew Feldman dished out six assists to help the Mustangs beat Venice. 

The Mustangs will travel to Sarasota High School on Wednesday, Dec. 2 to play their second regular season game of the season. 

Point guard Feldman stated, “I am excited to go play at Sarasota, I always look forward to going on the court and competing no matter who we play. Hopefully we can get a win and prepare for our game Saturday against Parrish Community High School (PCHS).”
