(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The School District of Manatee County is seeking input regarding protocols and practices for wearing face mask/coverings in schools.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the School Board of Manatee County will discuss whether the policy regarding wearing face masks/coverings in schools and on school buses will be changed or altered in the second quarter of the school year.

The School Board wants to include the parents of all students in Manatee County and all school employees in the decision.

A ConnectED phone message will be sent out to parents regarding the issue.

There is an opinion poll that can be found here, where parents/guardians and school employees can voice their opinion on the mask-wearing policy.

The poll will be open until Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 p.m. and will be located on the school district website and on the homepage of each school website.

In August, before school began, the School Board adopted an emergency measure that required face mask/coverings to be worn on school property and inside all of facilities including school buses.
