The LRHS Mustangs look to rebound from a close homecoming loss.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS’s varsity football team lost a tough game against the Sarasota Sailors, 21-17, on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020.

In the first half, both offenses struggled. Three interceptions were thrown, and a kickoff was mishandled by the Mustangs.

This led the Sailors to recover on the Mustangs’ eight-yard line which turned into a touchdown.

LRHS varsity football coach Rashad West took accountability for some of the mistakes made in the game.

West told the East County Observer, “The turnovers in the first half of the game made things tough. This loss has motivated me to be better and work harder with my team.”

The Mustangs will host the Seminole Warhawks, on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
