(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Following the LRHS varsity volleyball team’s last game loss against Gulf Coast, the team’s season came to a close with a record of 9-6.

Players and coaches took time to reflect on the season.

Senior Reygan Stubler said, “I thought our season was better than what it seemed. We played harder than I’ve ever seen us play, especially in the last game and I’m proud of my teammates.”

Due to COVID-19 players and coaches have had to adjust and change things in comparison to previous years.

Coach Perri Hankins said, “When volleyball shut down in March, I thought we would not have a season and I would not get to see our team play this year. I am so proud of what we accomplished this year.”

Senior Lauren Ford has been playing volleyball at LRHS for all four years of high school.

Ford said, “I love playing volleyball, and my experience has been great playing for the Mustangs for the last 4 years. Senior year made everything sentimental and showed all of the good memories from high school.”

Player AJ Sprague recalls her memories of being on the LRHS volleyball team.

“One of my most memorable moment would be from my junior year when we traveled to Orlando for a tournament to play other varsity teams. It was a lot of fun and we really bonded as a team,” she said.
