Mustangs “go to the dogs” for charity

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lakewood Loves Animals (LLA) club has been seeking out ways to offer its members volunteer hours by investing money and time into local shelters.

Last week, LLA’s contacted the Donte’s Den Foundation, a canine sanctuary in Myakka City dedicated to providing safe permanent housing, healthcare, and veterinary service to dogs. Many of these dogs receive extended or lifetime care and require extra maintenance.

On Saturday, Oct. 10 Donte’s Den welcomed LLA members to take a tour of their headquarters, as the club collectively decided they would volunteer for them over the course of this school year.

Attendees described the experience as overwhelmingly positive, and said they see a great deal of potential for growth as a club.

Junior Emilia Simeone said, “This event was a lot of time and I know that us volunteering there will not only benefit the dogs but will allow us to grow closer as members in our club and the community. In this way we are a part of something bigger.”
