Savannah Else – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Despite not having a homecoming dance this year, spirit week starts on Monday, Oct. 26 at LRHS.

In previous  years, Mustangs filled out ballots in their first period classes identifying who they wanted to win homecoming court. This year, due to COVID-19, Mustangs will fill out the same ballot virtually on Schoology.

This past week, the top eight candidates for each class were chosen. For the freshman year this includes Drew Roberts and Brianna Folkers, Noah Rueping and Kendall Crowell, Sebastian Meija and Alexandra Tzepis, Louie Massaro and Katie-Colline Purcell.

Sophomores include Ian Drygas and Gracyn McNich, Jack Banach and Lily Lynch, John Sirigiano and Jenna Barnhill, Trey Holweger and Sophia Colombo.

Juniors can choose from, Ben Prium and Brooke Gore, Tobias Davis and Carson Manning, Drew Clark and Sophie Joslyn, Sebastian Florez and Ashlie Langlois.

And finally, seniors have the option of Zach Fenimore and Ashley Pascarella, Dallas Rodriguez and Reygan Stubler, Travis Ference and Jordan Brown, Kevin Phung and Marissa Briggs.

Student Government Association (SGA) member and junior homecoming court candidate Sophie Joslyn stated, “Due to having hybrid and eLearners, SGA wanted to be sure that even though Mustangs may not be in school they can still participate in spirit week. Due to this those not at school can send in their spirit day outfits and send in their votes on-line.”

The goal of homecoming week this week is not, as in past years, to lead to the homecoming dance but to bring together Mustangs and staff to promote school spirit and create a fun school environment.
