Marissa Briggs– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS has given its seniors a senior planning guide to help make it easier to track graduation requirements and to keep track of important announcements.
The packet starts by listing all important contacts including school counselors, so Mustangs can reach out to them with any questions they have and to talk to them about their future.
The graduation requirements are also mapped out in the packet, as well as the qualifications for the different Bright futures Scholarship levels.
Senior Jenelle Bayor is grateful for the detailed packet.
“It is hard to have all of the dates and requirements for different graduating and applying to college memorized and kept in order. I am grateful for the packet as everything is now all in one place and I don’t feel as though I keep missing things,” said Bayor.
The American College Testing (ACT) exam and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) testing dates and fees are included, as well as what to expect when taking them. Following the testing page is a detailed description of the college application process and what Mustangs should consider when choosing colleges.
In the packet Mustangs are also instructed on how to submit their transcripts and test scores to their desired colleges.
Tips for filling out and applying for financial aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) are also included, with important dates to remember and information needed when applying.
If graduating Mustangs feel as though college is not the right path for them, there is also information on alternatives to college.
