Mustang girls finish first at North Port cross country

(Lakewood Ranch FL)- On Saturday, Sept. 17, LRHS’s boys and girls cross country teams competed in the North Port High School tri-county meet.  The girls’ team finished first out of 18 teams with a score of 35.

Junior Grace Marston finished fourth overall with a time of 18:53. In seventh place was junior Aurora Melzer with a time of 19:33.

The boys’ team finished eleventh out of 20 teams with a score of 301.

Senior Gavin Laielli finished 19th overall with a time of 17:17. Behind him was senior Owen Catlett in 48th place with a time of 18:22.

Cross-country coach Kristian Wickstrom said, “The tri-county meet was a huge success on both the boys and girls sides. It is always nice to defend the county championship and was an amazing accomplishment for our girls to win the overall Tri-County championship.”
