(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity football Mustangs started the season with a win against North Port Monday.

The Mustangs won 23-6 lead, playing defense for most of the night.

Rashad stated, “Last night was a good win for the team. The guys played hard, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement like always.”

The Mustangs were originally scheduled to play North Port on Thursday, Sep. 17, however the game was cancelled due to the absence of referees.

The Mustangs’ next game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 25 against the Booker Fighting Tornadoes.

This Friday is also Senior Night for senior football players, cheerleaders, dancers, and band members.
