Honoring seniors is an annual LRHS tradition.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – COVID-19 has caused sports at LRHS to make many changes. One of the biggest changes that affects both players and fans is each sport’s annual senior night.

Varsity football’s senior night will now be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, when the Mustangs play the Booker High School Tornados at home.

Senior cheerleaders and athletic trainers will also be recognized at the game.

Senior safety Travis Patten stated, “Not only will this be senior night but will also be the first home game of the season. I am so excited to show everyone what my teammates and I have accomplished this summer, and this is the best chance to do so.”

After a successful season last year, the Mustangs football team is looking to start off their first home game with a bang.

Varsity volleyball’s senior night date has also been changed to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Mustangs will play the Sarasota Sailors at home in their seventh game of the season.

Senior libero AJ Sprague stated, “I am so excited to have a senior night given the circumstances and to have a senior season with all of my friends.”

The Mustangs volleyball team is looking to have another winning season after going 15-11 the previous year.

The swim team will also be recognizing seniors at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Tickets are available through GoFan on the school’s website.
