Volleyball opens with win

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Monday Sept. 14, the LRHS varsity volleyball team played their first game of the season at home and beat Parrish Community High School (PCHS) 3-0.

The Mustangs won the first set 25-11, second set 25-9, third set 25-22.

Junior Kenzie Schmucker said, “As a whole I think we worked really well together and that even with some new people on the team, we still meshed well with one another and I’m excited to play again.”

The Mustangs have their next game Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Bradenton Christian School starting at 7 p.m.

The next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16 against Venice High School with junior varsity at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m. The game features a Hawaiian theme.

Senior night will be on Wednesday, Sept. 30 against Sarasota High School at LRHS with junior varsity at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.
